Safer Schools. Every Day.

That’s why the Kansas Safety Institute, or KSI, was launched in 2026 by the Kansas Association of School Boards. A non-profit designed with school district leaders and board members in mind, KSI champions a community-based approach to prioritize student safety.

We believe in the potential for positive change when neighbors and local partners come together. And we believe this is how we can secure the brightest future for Kansas children, families and communities — for generations to come.

Our mission

To prepare people and organizations to prevent, manage, and recover from safety and security incidents through training, collaboration, and applied learning.

Our Vision & Values

The Kansas Safety Institute works to create a coordinated statewide approach to safety and preparedness that strengthens trust, improves outcomes, and protects Kansas communities.
